About London String Players

The music centre has been set up to provide opportunities for amateur and semi-professional musicians to meet and play in a friendly and non pressurised environment and improve their skills.

The evening sessions take the form of small regular chamber music groups that meet weekly in a pleasant residential house near Queens Park, NW10. The groups are organized and coached by the director, Dorit Lichtenstern.

Care is taken to match players into groups of their appropriate playing standards. The groups range from grade 3 to professional standard.

Admission is by individual application to the director at any time of the year and acceptance depends on availability of a place in an ensemble of appropriate playing standard.

A small but well-stocked music library is kept at the house and parts can be booked out to individuals for private practice at home.

In addition to the chamber groups, there are opportunities to arrange private lessons on violin or viola and whole-day technique workshops are run from time to time covering specific areas of technique.
