Director: Dorit Lichtenstern RACM, BA
Dorit studied violin and viola at the Rubin Academy of Music in Israel and at the Royal College of Music in London (postgraduate diploma). She held various principal viola positions in orchestras here and abroad and played for 25 years with most of the major London orchestras: LPO, LSO and the London Sinfonietta.
She was a founder member of the Sheridan and Boccherini quartets and has run a very successful chamber music course at the Westminster Adult education Institute and The American School. She was also a well known and highly thought of violin/viola and chamber music teacher at the centre for Young Musicians, Morley College.
Dorit is now concentrating mainly on private tuition and running the various chamber music courses as well as performing with various small ensembles.
